David Meisenheimer

Lens Processing and Technology Division Chairman

David Meisenheimer began his optical career in June 2003 when he joined DAC Vision in Garland, Texas as Vice-President of Sales & Marketing. In April 2006, he advanced to Executive Vice-President of Sales & Marketing and was named President by the Board of Directors in April 2007. He is responsible for all aspects of DAC Vision's global ophthalmic operations, including strategic planning, long-term growth and profitability.

During his tenure at DAC Vision, David has successfully led and managed several significant transformations with the company. The first was an acquisition in April 2005 by a private French investment firm. Three years later in April 2008, he spearheaded the consolidation of all global ophthalmic holdings into the singular brand of DAC Vision. This included DAC Vision in Garland, Texas; Curt SA in Périgny, France; and A/S Hartfelt & Company in Copenhagen, Denmark. In April 2010, Essilor International purchased a 60% stake in the company. David remains actively involved in this integration process.

DAC Vision is the world's leading manufacturer and distributor of ophthalmic lens processing supplies. Factories and warehouses are strategically located in Asia, Europe and North America. These locations are complemented by multiple independent and company managed distribution centers throughout the world.

Prior to joining DAC Vision, David held upper management positions at DORMA GmbH & Co. KG, Sanwa Shutter Corporation and Vitro, S.A.B. de C.V. His father owned a commercial glass company, enabling him to hone his early business skills by working in the family business.

David has been an active member of the Lens Processing Technology Division and assumes the role of Division Chair effective January 2011. His passion and commitment to the industry is exemplified by his continued effort to challenge himself and colleagues to serve and promote The Vision Council's objectives.

David earned a BBA degree in Marketing from Texas Tech University, with a concentration in Business Law. He resides in Grapevine, Texas with his daughters, Caitlin and Allison. David is an avid outdoor enthusiast and particularly enjoys fly-fishing, wine collecting, digital-photography, gardening and cooking.
