Bob Colucci

Robert M. Colucci began his career working in field sales and sales management in both the pharmaceutical and contact lens industries. With a keen sense of human relations skills and training ability, he forged his skills into becoming a dynamic management professional.

With this basic groundwork experience, he started his career with Essilor more than twenty years ago as Director of Sales for Varilux Corporation. He was promoted to Vice President of Sales in early 1991 and had an active role over the years in the rapid growth of the Varilux product line. In 1996, Essilor Lenses reorganized into distinct business units focusing on unique customer segments, wherein; Mr. Colucci was appointed Senior Vice-President, General Manager Wholesale Group, Essilor Lenses (a division of Essilor of America). In 1997, he was elected by the U.S. employees to serve on the Board of Directors of Valoptec Association, the association that represents the Essilor employee shareholders, a position he continues to hold.

In 1999, the Essilor International shareholders elected Mr. Colucci as a member of the Essilor Board of Directors, which he served on until March 2004. During the same year (August 1, 1999), he assumed the position of Sr. Vice-President, Sales and Marketing for Essilor Laboratories of America (ELOA). On October 18, 2004, he was promoted to President, Independent Distribution Division, which is focused on growing Essilor market share within the independent wholesale labs, the network of stock houses and integrated retailers.

Mr. Colucci received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio and later earned his MBA at St. Mary's College in Moraga, California.

In his spare time, he enjoys scuba diving, reading, weight training and jogging.
